January 15, 2025 – CyboEnergy, Inc. (Rancho Cordova, California), a leader in renewable energy solutions, is excited to announce the launch of its new 1500W Off-Grid CyboInverter H Model, specifically designed for solar PV water heating applications. This innovative product builds upon CyboEnergy’s patented technologies, offering an efficient, reliable, and cost-effective solution for water heating needs. It also supports a wide range of 300W to 550W or higher solar panels, ensuring versatility and adaptability for various solar setups.
CyboEnergy CEO, Dr. George Cheng, stated: “For people who use electric water heaters and face high electricity bills but want to avoid the hassle of connecting their solar system to the grid or installing batteries, the CyboInverter H Model offers an easy and cost-effective solar solution to reduce monthly electricity costs. It can provide hot water even if the grid goes down.”
As shown in the diagram above, an off-grid PV water heating system is remarkably simple. It consists of multiple solar panels and an off-grid CyboInverter H Model, which delivers solar energy directly to the lower heating element of the water heater. The temperature setpoint for the lower element can be intentionally set much higher than that of the upper element. This ensures that the upper element, which consumes grid power, only activates when a large amount of hot water is used within a short period. Compared to thermal solar systems, PV water heating offers numerous advantages: it is simple, clean, safe, cost-effective, and requires no maintenance. What better way to store solar energy than as hot water?
CyboEnergy also offers a 3KW off-grid solar system featuring a CyboInverter H Model Twin Pack to be paired with eight solar panels, as shown below. It includes two CyboInverters daisy-chained via AC wires and connectors for easy installation. This setup is designed to provide sufficient hot water for a family of 4 to 6 people, making it a practical and efficient solution for larger households.
This release aligns with CyboEnergy’s mission to tackle global energy challenges through innovative and accessible technologies. The new inverter is particularly well-suited for residential and small commercial applications, including hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and swimming pools, enabling customers to take control of their energy consumption.
There are DC direct systems on the market that connect solar panels directly to water heaters. However, it is important to note that most cities in the U.S. prohibit high-power DC systems inside houses or buildings due to safety concerns. As a result, these DC devices cannot obtain UL certification, and users should be aware of the risks when choosing any high-power DC devices.
CyboInverters, on the other hand, have been installed on a large scale with satisfied customers who value their unique features, including plug-and-play installation, cost-effective off-grid solar solutions, and flexibility to work with or without batteries. The 1500W Off-Grid CyboInverter is now available for order through CyboEnergy’s partners, value-added resellers (VARs), or CyboEnergy directly.
